2020 has been one heck of a year. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many anime studios have delayed the production of some most-awaited anime.
Among all this negativity, there’s plenty of good news to look forward to. Some popular anime shows are all set to release in 2021. Let’s take a look at each of them one-by-one:
GTO
Great Teacher Onizuka or most commonly known as GTO tells the inspiring story of a 22-years old punk and criminal turned educator.
Throughout the series, he suffers plenty of hurdles such as a frazzled leader, his past demons & stubborn classmates. He does not believe in giving up & works hard to become a truly excellent teacher.
That’s why I said earlier, it’s an inspirational story where a thug transformed himself to become a reputed teacher.
Further, GTO anime is full of ghosts, supernatural creatures, and emotional scars. The entire time in the anime, he’ll be anxious to get his humanity back and discard all of these supernatural phenomena.
Solo Leveling
Based on the South Korean Web Novel by Chugong, Solo Leveling’s main plot revolves around a gate that connects the real world with the realm of monsters and magic.
Then to fight off against these monsters, humans received superhuman powers to become hunters.
As the story progresses, it follows the world’s weakest hunter Sung Jin-Woo. Still, the 22-year-old hunts low-rank gates to pay for his mother’s medical bills.
Then one day everything changes for him as he found himself in front of a mysterious screen floating in a hospital after a mission went wrong.
The Mysterious screen or “Quest Log” demanded Jin-Woo to complete an intensive training program or face a tough penalty. Then in order to become the world’s most fearsome hunter, he agrees to do the complete program all by himself.
Grand Blue
After an explosive Grand Blue Season 1 on Amazon video, fans are demanding season 2. Grand Blue is the story of the main character Iori Kitahara. He moves to his uncle’s ski diving store (Grand Blue) to begin his new life.
However, a shock awaits him there as he finds a local Diving Club. The club includes a group full of buff men who spend most of their time partying, drinking & stripping naked. They do all this except the actual diving.
He tries his best to stay away from this group but ends up falling for their antics. To make sure, Lori’s appropriate distance from the group, his cousins try to show him the wonders of diving into the ocean and sea. Just like the manga series, the anime series did fairly well on an online video streaming platform. Grand Blue manga series has ample content available. So, it’s highly likely that we’ll see Grand Blue Season 2 sometime in 2021.
Black Butler Season 4
After airing the first episode in 2008, the Black Butler anime series has been the center of attraction for many anime fans. Ever since the arrival of Black Butler Season 1, it has become a franchise as many live-action films have been released under its name.
The last Black Butler Season Book of Circus aired 10 episodes from July 10, 2014, to September 12, 2014. Now, it’s 2020, from the last 6 years fans are waiting for Black Butler Season 4. Now, it looks like their patience is finally going to pay off. Now, Black Butler Season 4 is all set to arrive in 2021. Earlier, it was speculated to release sometime in October 2020.
However, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the shooting got delayed and now, it’s all set to arrive in the second half of 2021.
As for the story, the Black Butler anime series follows around Ciel Phantomhive. He’s the main protagonist of the series. Ciel is a 13-year-old bod dead kid who comes from a noble family Queen’s watchdog.
The story then begins with his entire family getting murdered & him receiving tasks of solving London’s underworld crimes. Now, to take revenge for his family’s death, he makes a deal with a devil named Sebastian Michaelis.
The deal allows the demon to take over Ciel’s body & in return, the devil has to serve all his ideas & desires. Then Ciel takes Butler’s form & throughout the series, Sebastian must protect Ciel Phantomhive to continue living in his body.
Baki Season 4
Baki Season 4 named Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre picks up where Baki season 3 left off – Baki challenging his father Yujiro.
If you’ve read the manga then you might be aware of some of its gruesome moments. Now, with the anime series, all this action will come to life.
With Baki Hanma, the final story arc of the Baki anime series will come to an end. The martial arts-based anime is expected to end with a climactic showdown between father & son – Yujiro & Baki.
