Inversion therapy is not something new. Hanging upside-down in order to give some relief to your pain goes as far back to 400 BC. In today’s world, the inversion therapy is basically done by using an inversion table to muster the health benefits that are usually from reversing the gravitational pull on the body’s organs, bones, and muscles. But like every other thing this too comes with its own set of pros and cons. In this article, we’ll try to give the general and most common pros and cons of using an inversion table so cling on and explore with us.

Pros of Inversion Table

1. Athletes benefit: inversion therapy helps in enhancing joint health and de-stresses. Many athletes use this therapy to aid the return to blood from the legs, it helps in recovery. The inversion tables are used to give their core strength.

2. Detox your body: the circulation of lymph in the body goes pretty much the same way just like the blood circulation. Its main function is to protect your body from illness and to extract the toxic substances out of the body. Inversion helps in promoting lymph circulation by decompressing the spine and rehydrating the discs between your vertebrae

3. Spinal disc relief: when someone flips backward by the help of an inversion table then immediately the spine is stretched and stays in linear alignment. This helps in releasing the pressure and increases in space between disc and vertebrae and reduces the pain.

4. Blood circulation: With the help of the inversion table one can have good blood circulation. You get more blood to your brain and that’s beneficial for the body.

5. Detoxification of body: helps in detoxification of your body if used with perfection and if you follow the proper methods. The inverting creates space in between your disc and brings more fluid thus releasing the unwanted nutrients from the body.

6. Lower back pain: the most important pro is that the table helps in reducing the lower back pain when inverted the body is upside down and if done regularly in some days you’ll see the difference yourself.

7. Reduces tensions: the inversion tables can help reduce tension headaches by taking the pressure off nerves. They increase flexibility, promote lymphatic drainage and blood circulation, and ultimately uplifts your mood. When reversed the effects of the gravity leads to blood circulation to the upper body including the brain.

This may lead to high blood pressure and it is suggested to take proper cautions and instructions from an experienced person then use it.

2. Heart diseases: one is always at the risk of catching a heart disease if using an inversion table on a regular basis. So it is recommended to go for checkups and get updates about your body before installing the same into your normal daily routine.

3. History of stroke: if you have a history of stroke then it is suggested to take proper cautions and advice from a physiotherapist whether you should be fit to use an inversion table or not because you don’t want to risk your body do you?

4. Hernia: not just the problem of blood circulation but there can also be a risk of hernia involved while using an inversion table, so use it as per the need.
